News and Announcements

Goodbye

I am sending out this notice that I will be stepping down as Principal of Columbia High School. I will be retiring at the end of the year, and to be fair to my successor I will be taking another administrative job in the district.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the students, faculty and staff at Columbia High School and the entire CBISD Community for allowing me the opportunity to be an Assistant Principal for 3 years and Principal for the last almost 3 years. I have made some great relationships while working here. I moved to this community and have been made to feel welcome from the start. Thank you all for that.
I know that there has been some major adversity the last couple of years that were not enjoyable for anybody. I’m proud of how our students and faculty fought through those issues. Yes, we took some steps backwards but we put together a plan and we are showing major improvement. I look forward to seeing the results of that plan at the end of the year.
All of this being said, the most important thing for me during all of this was having all students back in school and seeing the joy in not just their faces but also the faculty and staff…..for the kids are the reason we chose this profession…there is no other reason for me.
Even though I will be finishing out the year in another role, CHS is being left in great hands with Mr. William Jeffery and Mr. Caleb McCain. With their leadership, there is no question in my mind that CHS will have continued growth and success.
Again….from the bottom of my heart, Thank You all for the opportunity to be the principal at Columbia High School. I bid you all a very heartfelt goodbye and I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas.
Scott Moody
