Freshman Roughneck football Recap 11/5/2020

Falling behind after a sluggish 1st half, the Freshman Roughneck football team exploded for a big time 44-16 win over the Brazosport Exporters. Brazosport would have to resort to trickery to put their 16 points in the 1st half while Kavion Lewis would add a pair touchdowns from 68 and 24 yards out to cut the deficit to 2 points. Braylon Thomas would recover the 2nd half opening kickoff that would set up a 50 yard TD reception to Cayden Bledsoe from Major Marshall for the 1st lead of the game, a lead that they would not relinquish the rest of the night. The Defense, led by tackling machine Cole Gotcher and some huge pass break ups from Marshall and Trevon High, would continually get the ball back for the offense. The offensive line would aide Trevon High in putting some work in on offense as he scampered up the sideline for 83 yards. High would take another 41 yard jaunt down the left side on the very next possession. Another forced punt behind the stingy defense would lead to Jaheim Campbell stiff arming his way to the endzone for the final touchdown of the night. By the end of the night, Blake Osteen would have a running and receiving 2pt conversion as well as a couple extra point kick and Lewis would also have a 2pt run. The Freshman Necks would end the year with a 2nd place district finish and 7-2 record and look forward to taking that momentum into the offseason.
